Why I Teach:

I teach to proclaim the truths of the Catholic Faith to our children for the salvation of their souls. I am also a big kid at heart, and I enjoy being around the students and having fun with them.

My Professional Experience:

I am an Honorably retired Police Officer with the Dallas Police Department having served 20 years and 2 months. All of my years were spent as a Uniformed Patrol Officer answering 911 calls for service. I developed a passion for and have taken advanced training on motor vehicle crash investigation. At work, I assisted other Officers when they submit a Peace Officers crash report to the State of Texas. I retired on June 7, 2022 and I am looking forward to having a long career at St. Joseph Catholic School. I also am involved as a Parishioner at St. Joseph Catholic Church. I have been on 5 Mens ACTS Retreats and was the Director on the 2018 retreat Team. I am a 4th degree Knight of Columbus and member of council 8954 at St. Joseph as well as 4th Degree Assembly 2506. I currently serve as an extraordinary minister of Holy Communion for the Saturday 5:00pm Vigil Mass.

My Family:

My father, mother and older sister all live in Houston along with my two nieces. I enjoy visiting them and spending vacations together in Galveston every year. I have been married to my wonderful, lovely wife, Meredith, for the past 17 years. We both attended Texas A&M University from 1997-2001 but never met until we both graduated and were living in Dallas. We have 5 children together: Nathan, Marie, Samuel, Theresa, and baby Aaron. Nathan, Marie, Samuel and Theresa attend St. Joseph Catholic School from 8th grade down to 1st grade. By the time Aaron graduates 8th grade at St. Joseph we will have been at the school for 22 uninterrupted years as school parents! Lastly, our house is home to two cats, Socks and Lucky, a cockatiel named Sunkist and a 90 lb German Shepherd named Faith.

Something you might not know about me:

I entered the Catholic Church in College during Easter 2000 after my life turned a complete 180 degrees towards the Catholic Faith from the Protestant Faith. I was planning on entering seminary to become a presbyterian minister, but God called me to believe and profess the truth of the Catholic faith. This was truly unintended by me and was all the work of God. Looking back, I see this as the greatest moment in my life because it brought me home with God.

My Prayer for My Students:

I pray that the Holy Spirit will come upon you and transform your life in a way in which you will never be the same. I pray that you will be protected from evil and not fall into false teachings. Last, I pray that if you do go astray, you will always remember you are loved here and have a home in the Catholic Church no matter what.
